Need Some quick help - this one's above me

Alright...

My wifes cousin died and her uncle is in the ICU.... she left on vacation for 2 weeks to tend to her family.

Here's the problem, it all falls on our 5th year wedding anniversary. So I need to send her some flowers/cake with a card. Not sure if I should tie the two together or not - not sure if I should even send anything (but I might hear about it later if I don't).

What would you write on the card?

Here's what I would do. Send something about her cousin and/or uncle before the anniversary. Then, on the anniversary, send something else. Make it unique (i.e. if you send her roses as a condolance, do not send roses for the anniversary).

If you make them two separate issues, you shouldn't have to worry what the card says.
