you cant really. it's just a matter of how much you trust that person to tell you the truth.

    Body language.

If someone says "really," or "honestly," before or after a statement, they are telling some form of a lie.

It has been scientifically proven that its harder to look someone directly in the eye when you know you are lying, and you will either look away periodically or blink.

    Fidget

    They will get stressed out

They will make up stuff and stutter over what they are saying

Lots of ways, really, but its all in the eyes and intuition.

The post wasnt about GOOD lyers. It was, "How can you tell if someone is lying?"

For instance, I know the secrets of lying, so I am a fantastic lyer.

How do you know if a good lyer is lying? You dont.

No, the difference between being a good lyer and a casual lyer is that casual lyers tell some version of the truth, they stretch it. Good lyers dont tell lies and not versions of truth, so you know your lie and you know the truth and you dont believe your own lie because you know the truth is different.

You never really know whether or not someone is being truthful, I guess it depends how much you trust them

if you know someone very well, you might be able to tell when they are lying or not. otherwise, you just have to go with yor feelings and instincts.

ive heard that if they are lying right to your face, their eyes get bloodshot. but i dont know if thats completely reliable or not.

Unless you're gullible go with gut instinct.

I have an inbuilt BS detector that I have developed over time.

The biggest give aways for detecting lies:

Not looking directly at you as they talk.

Touching their face (nose, ears, eyes).

    Fidgeting.

    Faster than usual speech.
