Animal? Are humans included in this question? I was watching a show today (I'm in Korea so it's a programme I don't get in Australia) and their stats say that 11,127 people died in USA as a result of gunshot wounds last year..that's only USA not world wide so if humans are considered animals then I'd vote for them. Then there's the mosquito, nasty little critter that kills lots of people but...an insect I guess so maybe that's not correct either??? |

Mosquito is correct. I was not including humans, though humans are indeed high on the list, killing at least half a million other humans annually. |

I was going to guess at snake but I thought it was just my fear of them that made me think that way...I really am terrified of them. |

I remember now that you are scared of snakes and have had bad experiences with them. |

That's an interesting debate. One could argue that there are two kinds of organisms: plants and animals. |

I vote with animal. They are not chordata, but neither are sponges and corral, also animals. |

You are correct Larry...Well done! Fred and Wilma Flintstone were the first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time TV sometime between 1960-66. |

I know this one. Ostrich. I've heard it many times, though I've never bothered to fact check it. |

Ostrich is correct Jane. Seems Larry is still in La La Land so maybe you can post the next question. |

Hellon, it's funny you happened to ask that specific question. It's one of those random things I've known for ages. I also know another funny fact about ostriches, which I'll turn into a trivia question: |

I'd say faster than 30mph. I'm basing this off watching how fast an emu can run (there's an emu farm close to me) and they can go like the clappers so....maybe 50? |

Emus are big business here in Australia and there are farms doted across the country. Here's a link to some of the things they produce. |

Emus weee a big fad here in Texas some years back. Unfortunately the meat never became popular and Emu ranchers went broke. They turned their flocks loose & sherrifs in three counties had to round them up. For awhile Fudruckers offered emu burgers. Interestingly, I've had emu but only in Australia. |

I've never had emu before Larry. It's not something that's available in your average supermarket. I think it could be on some fancy restaurant's menu for a price...I imagine it would be an expensive dish? I have tried kangaroo a few times, it is available in most of the supermarkets, doesn't smell very good when raw but it tastes delicious when cooked properly. |
