Maddy, thanks for the honest answer and I'm sorry for what you went through. As for Tori Amos, I have always loved her work.

    Take care

What do you feel is the best/worst thing about yourself?

  • Brenda

Maddy, it's been fascinating learning about you. You strike me as a well centered young lady with a fabulous future ahead of you. Of all your teachers has anyone in particular done or said anything that really motivated you to your current path your life is on? Is it exciting to be on the cusp of your future? I'm so excited for you and all the possibilities.

The best thing about myself is probably that I'm described as a go getter. I've always been able go after the things I need or want to slove my problems.
The worst thing is that I don't really know how to ask for help even when I need it most.

"Meaning behind my PnQ name: well at the moment it's a reference to a few things. Firstly I have lived in a lot of houses, but the one that felt the most like home had a nest of bluejays right before we moved and it is one of the happiest moments I've known. And secondly, it is about growing up and sort of figuring out how to use your wings to gain the freedom you deserve or have earned from surviving the first stages of life (the whole you're 18 you're an adult thing)."

What a beautiful and interesting story! :)

I have really enjoyed reading your answers and learning more about you thus far! You have some amazing stories and seem like such an interesting and ambitious person. I'm terrible at asking people questions, but if I think of anything that hasn't already been asked, I'll let you know :) Thanks for sharing about yourself and good luck in all your future endeavors! Hold on to that ambition and hit that pavement of adulthood hard and with your head held high. Follow your dreams and make your goals a reality. I think you have a very bright future ahead of you (and I hope to one day hear about your amazing trip to Italy!) Take care!

PS: I am a bad reader, too. I jump from book to book like bee’s to flowers, lol. Start one and then start another and forget to finish the other. It’s a vicious cycle, haha.

You said you wanted to meet a couple of people from PNQ in real life, who's on that list (excluding me, cause i know i'm number one :p)?
What's your favourite kind of flower?

Of my teachers there are a handful that have really pushed me forward and have even stayed in touch even now that really helped me through some big descisions. The first was my fourth grade english teacher, the second was my sixth grade science teacher, then my junior and senior year journalism teacher/advisor.

Thank you for all of your kind words!

Not that all pnqers aren't fabulous or anything but the people here that I'd like to meet the most are You Mark, Maple Tree/Andrea, Poet on the Piano/Mary Anne, Brooke (shes gone by far too many names to associate her with a pnq one), and also I am very interested in meeting someone who no longer visits so I'll leave it at that.

Favorite flower is a tiger lily.

Would you ever have a pet squirrel?

Do you have any pets? Lol

    Maybe to a pet squirrel.

Do I have any pets? Only if my little brother counts :P But I feel like I do cause my boyfriend's house is practically a zoo :P

Hi, such a delight to read your answers. :)

Umm is there any habit of yours that often lands you into trouble? ^_^

I do actually I have a really bad habit of picking at my nails and whenever I do the nail is so short I can no longer do every day things like open a can of soda.

Question #6: What do you think people notice about you first? What's something that takes longer for people to realize?

Question #7: What is a compliment you think you have received most often throughout the years?

Question #8: If you could go back in time and change one decision, would you? What would it be and why?

Question #9: Is there a piece of advice someone has given you that has stuck with you and maybe changed the way you think?

Sorry I've been MIA. Friends came to visit for 4 days and now I'm sick with a fever, but I'm here! :)

Wow, no worries, I totally understand that life gets in the way of PnQ sometimes!

Answer 6: What do people notice first about me? Hmm... probably the contrast of my bright red hair and blue eyes. Something that takes longer is probably how many silly/weird things I do on a daily basis

Answer 7: I have been complimented a million and one times that I am a miniature version of my mother. (and yes that really is a compliment).

Answer 8: I don't think I would go back and change anything. I mean yeah there are things I wish I had done differently but each of those things has led me to who and what I am so why change it and be even more unhappy or whatever else later on.

Answer 9: I have gotten a lot of advice in my life, but honestly I am not sure if any one piece has stuck more than others or any one particular piece could change the way I think.

Thanks for being so understanding. I feel like crap. Day 4 of being sick. I absolutely hate being sick. The discomfort is one thing, but having so many wasted days ups my stress level to 11/10. Every day that I'm too mentally and physically exhausted to get things done means a day's worth of tasks being piled up so that when I'm finally better, the amount that I need to do is impossible. Enough about me.

    Your final question!!!

Question #10: If you could make everyone here read one passage (an excerpt from a book, quote from movie, a poem, etc.), what would it be?

  • BlueJay replied to silvershoes

Hey no, i totally get that and I'm sure a lot of us relate :) please feel better! Drink tea and take it easy!

Answer 10: I would have everyone read the poem/microstories titled the ambasador of all things sad by Ian S. Thomas and when I get home from work I'll add a link to it. Why? Because we all have days thar aren't the best and sometimes we have days where we lose the will to get out of bed, but there's not always the people or hope we need to get on our feet again and this piece really helps to fight that.

Also, Mark, I've decided what piece of literature everyone needs to read too. The Hitchhickers guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

BlueJay! Thank you for being our second Poet of the Fortnight. I enjoyed getting to know you better and sincerely appreciate how open and honest you were with all of us during your time in the spotlight. You have led an exceedingly interesting life so far - I can't wait to find out what comes next. Oh, the places you'll go!

I'm sorry I missed this, and I know it's not my thread, but the bird and dog she mentioned belong to me - Maddy made a mistake in the bird story; everyone says Jerm will go to me, but that's if she doesn't implode when my dad dies. She did choose him first afterall.
