    Dream Travel Entries

    1) Atlas Mountains

Dry winds carry eagles on its back
In a place where greenery is bleak.
Lizards hide inside the hillside stack
And goats and sheep meandre on the peak.

Nomads wander wild and free from prey.
Berber people live within the caves.
They still keep technology at bay,
No handsets, tweets or internet waves.

Each person has each a task to own
And everyone has his brothers back.
In this group you never are alone
For naught needed will you ever lack.

Life freshly drawn is a dream of mine.
Close to nature with much lowered stress,
Seems to me a place much more than fine
Where all things are shared and more is less.

Atlas mountains is where I would be
Live in a cave with beautiful view
From assets and stress I would be free
Living the way my heart could feel true

    2) Facing East

It is not a place I dream about,
Never had any desire to go.
There are no lakes for me to paddle,
Not big rivers that will flow.

I find myself drawn to this land,
That does not know what it could be.
A land ravaged by the acts of man,
    A complete catastrophe.

Yet I find my feet are ready,
I prepare as best one can,
And I know that I'll be humbled
For I am just another man.

A man with who's made mistakes.
    Who can't forget the past.
Will this new land that i shall call my home,
Bring some kind of peace that lasts.

The hot wind shall be my river,
The desert shall be my sea.
    I shall immerse myself completely.
Let sands of time wash over me.

    3) Istanbul

I wandered the vibrant city of Istanbul
from its vast road to its narrow lane
the days were fast, the nights were cool.
I flew with its birds & landed with its rain

I heard the music in the streets of Taksim,
it held the smell of fresh bread & spicy tea
    it was like a mother's prayer, a kid's dream.
It gives you chills & tears, it sets you free

I left a part of me in the city of treasures
in its many bazars, sweets shops & food kiosks,
the lively endless evenings & countless pleasures.
How I long for its songs; oh, the city of mosques!

    4) Mare Tranquillitatis

On Earth I wander as a wisp
a vapour trailing in the air
My travels blow a seasoned mist
Across the lands of beauty fair

And yet my fingers yearn to feel
to somehow see her secret sight
To be with her, alone, surreal
    To gravitate towards her light

so, in my dreams I soar to you
    my lunar love, my reverie
it’s here where steps made their debut
    on Sea of our Tranquillity

    5) Philippines (Dumaguete and Bohol)

See turquoise sea and snow white sands
cook fish from boats moored on the beach
Behind palm trees and rich green lands
for as far as your mind can reach

Contrast warm sun and dusty roads
in jeepney singing on your way
Hot with rarely a single breeze
to say your squashed is a cliche

    In town pedicabs weave around
    bright coloured legion's on display
The bustle of the market sound
with stalls filled up every day

Island life can be tough alone
    but good friendships can overcome
sharing culture and all you own
    ensures everyone has a crumb

The gentleness and laid back pace
is grounds for why I love it so
    my perfect ever after place
when retired I will surely go

    6) Untitled

In my dreams, I flew to the Pacific Northwest
Over steep cliffs at Multnomah Falls
I heard forest songs from spirits celeste
    Lungs opened, inhaling mountain's scrawls.

Plummeting 620 feet, water courted earth
Fear evaporated while I dove with wings
I welcomed the flood, stories of rebirth
Lush greens, the rush of a hundred springs.

Created for a princess according to lore
I called upon her presence as water surged
A hidden treasure now open to adore
We glided through the falls, afflictions purged.
