Ok. Write a short 'poemy' thing about the place you live (close environment: town, street or boulevard for you wealthy Americans) say what you see or feel about the place. Straight off the top of your head - no planning!

    Mine:

    Regeneration replacing degeneration
In a town where thousands once stood
    united.
Miners. Black faces. Fucked up wages
    had camaraderie like you'd never
    understand.

Hey, we've already spanned the globe, here. An area or Ireland, England and Australia. Come on the rest of you all...fill in the missing spaces with your places!

Wow! I'm very impressed. I feel like I'm looking out of your windows/souls into places I've never been.

In my mind it's a beautiful place
in reality, it's such a waste
guns & knives at the schools
metal detectors to catch the fools
    security guards monitoring daily
I'd have to say this town is crazy.
killing each other for money or drugs
police patroling to catch the thugs
sirens are heard all the time
due to the high rate of crime
    racial wars worse each day
people praying that it will change.

This is about the town I call HOME...I posted one earlier about the town I live in now.

small & cozy not much there
    not one stranger anywhere
    BBQ's for all to attend
having fun cause we're all friends
no issues on black & white
    kids not in your sight
still you know they're all right
street lights come on, they roll up the streets
you can sleep at night in perfect peace

What a difference from where I live now.

Through my window I see bums walking down the street.
People hanging on the corner, boarded up houses and everything.
Through my window I see crack heads asking little kids for money.
I see people stealing cars, breaking into houses~ this type of sh*t aint funny.
Everyday allday this is how it be
Through my window I see people selling weed.
I see people shooting guns, people getting shot.
Through my window I see f*cked up things alot.
