The suppresion of the natural sexual urges and developement into something unhealthy, which results in the tendency towards sexual attack...

In other words, we all want to have hard core sex...to rutt, like animals, at some point....if we don't have a healthy relationship and or a healthy mind to control such urges....we enforce them on other people.

Rape is usually about power rather than sex. Rapist use violence or force to make the person have sex, and making themself feel in control.

    Sickos!

Why some people cause rape?...I don't know...They have hormonal urges maybe? I don't know...Nada wrote somewheres in the sadness/depression category a good list of how to prevent rape...everyone should check it out...definitely...

I have no idea why they do it but I have opinions of their motives.

I've been raped 2 times, 2 different people. the first one, I beleive he just liked the control that came with it. I was 7 yrs. old and he knew I wouldnt do anything to stop him. He was fucked up in the head and enjoyed the yelling and screaming for him to stop.

the second one, I had a friendship with and he decided to take advantage of it. I guess he thought I wanted it even though I told him no. It was partly my fault because I could have stopped it.

yes it is bad and nasty

but don't feel sorry for me. the experience has helped me learn and grow stronger. and I'm able to relate to other people have gone through it. If anything it has helped me rather than hurt me. It only hurts if you dwell on it and blame yourself.

Read most of what Nada has written.
And maybe even PM her, and if she gets the time she might tell you what some of the rapists said, if she dind't write about it in her thread...I couldn't read all of it...

*hugs to Renee* You're amazing hun.

It's a door that swings both ways.

Sure men rape women and other men, it's an overpowering subconcious drive to dominate another's will in most (not all) cases.

But there are plenty of cases of women raping men too, usually involving date rape drugs in bars etc.

I would love to just call you numpty for your stupidity and leave it at that but alas I'm not so aligned.

Not all men want to have sex all the time. In fact some of us go out without our wives for a drink with no intention of having sex. I'm sure you'd love to be drugged, bundled into a cab and wake up the next morning with no recollection of what you did, where you were all night and with no reason to explain to your wife why your balls are on fire because you were given some std.

We're human, not machines. When you learn that you'll probably be a bit ashamed of your witless reply.

  • pinkalias

Well, you do indeed obviously know nothing of the mind of a rapist, so I will provide you with what I know.

The cause of rape has absolutely nothing to do with sex (with some exceptions). The actual reason for most rapes is because of male dominance over the female and the lust for power. The fact that the man can force himself onto a woman and that she has no say in what will happen, that he will get whatever he wants no matter what she does, gives him a satisfying feeling of dominance and power. This is what gets a lot of guys off, and most men are attracted to power so the thought forcing sex onto a weaker being is very intriguing to them.

And you asked what makes them think it's ok to do that to the girl, well obviously they don't give a shit about what the outcome will be on the girl, so that's not an issue for them.

Bret....I've heard of a very low number of women molesting young boys...but it's physically impossible for her to rape a man, even with drugs (unless there is some rare incident where objects are involved)
I'm very curious to hear where you got that information, because I've definetly never heard of it

  • Renee

ya know....now that I think of it...women raping men/boys can be a definite possibility.

The man's 'item' has a mind of its own. A guy can't tell his penis to turn on and off. When your 11, 12, around there, a woman can stimulate the young man and make him do things. I'm sure he can try to fight back but the woman is probably much stronger.

have you ever seen the movie "Antwoine Fisher"? The little boy gets raped/abused, I beleive.

  • pinkalias

Yes renee I have seen that movie, and yes I have heard of a low number of women who molest and rape little boys, but I have yet to hear of a woman raping a full grown man

alright bret, we get it, women can rape men. I'll bet the percentage of the time it actually happens is hardly enough to even be called a percentage though

  • Bret Higgins

Granted the penrcentage of female predators is only 1%, but what difference does this number make exactly?

Because only 1% of women rape men I figure you mean it should be swept under the carpet. That's your line of thinking, right?

    www.student.virginia.edu/~1in4/statistics.doc

    http://www.rainn.org/statistics.html#mentoo

3% of American men have been raped.. 2.78 MILLION American men.

So approximately 27,800 men have been raped by women in America alone during 2003. I read (I'll have to search for it again) that 10 attacks happen in Portugal daily. I guess that if nearly 30,000 cases a year still isn't enough for you to consider then I'll drop the whole thing and send your feminist.com blinkers in the post. Harsh? Certainly. True? Prove me wrong.

By the way, I agree with Bob...

I simply think rape is worse than murder..

I mean, murder can be committed in extreme anger or fear etc, while rape is just wicked...

    Pure evil..

    Burn em..and I mean it...burn em all

  • pinkalias

Bret what the fuck is your problem. stop bitching you woman

My point to that was the reason why I didn't believe you in the first place and why others didn't as well, I was merely justifying why it was unheard of. Don't piss your panties

and Bob and enslave I completly agree, rape is worse than murder and should be delt with no exceptions or forgiveness to the attacker.

  • Bret Higgins

Bob and I (and everyone else it seems) agree completely. I'd apply for the post of rapist removal expert without hesitation.

And Pink, I'd have thought by now that you'd know I don't post anything without checking it first. To do otherwise is pure ignorance.

Now my point is proved it's time to change my panties I guess.

haha, damn. Reading this made me realize how much I missed the old dynamics when I was on sebatical.

Everyones reasons for rape were right, suppressed urges, people who dont know how to deal with their emotions, acting on impulse, irregular neurologic tendencies, scarring childhoods, etc.

At the end of the day there's no excuse for it though. People like that need help. Often times it is rapists who were victims early in their very own childhoods.

There's no doubt it's wrong, no matter what the gender. Sexual practice against ones will is nothing to overlook strictly because of sex.

  • pinkalias

Alright Bret I must be lost because I have no idea what your point was.

Anyway, I have a question. We all do know that rape has near nothing to do with the absence of sex or the desire for it, but for the dominance factor. But recently I read an article of a rapist who had the women pretend that they were enjoying the rape and that it was consensual saying that he wanted "to act like it was real"

I obviously don't know everything about rapists or this wouldn't have surprised me, considering prostitutes and hookers are quite cheap these days, so I was surprised to hear of a rapist who actually wanted consensual sex (or acted anyway)

    explain...

If people KNEW what made others do this they'd pick them all up and castrate them.

  • Bret Higgins

Sounds like a case of personal inadequacy, Pink. He can't satisfy women so forces women to act that way.

Thats a surface opinion though, who really knows what goes on in the minds of the depraved? Only the depraved of course.

  • pinkalias

"He can't satisfy women so forces women to act that way."

that's a good point actually I didn't think of that.
