Why do people in here care so much about spelling?

I personally think that people submitting poems on a POEM site should try to spell correctly and read their work through for obvious spelling mistakes... it doesn't really bother me if someone has made a spelling mistake on a poem, but if they have written in slang and not started sentances/lines with a capital letter then it starts to bug me! And what REALLY annoys me is uncapitalised i for I.. GRRRR!

I know that I don't spell everything correctly but this is due to inexperience and I do read through poems before I submit them, though I don't pick up on every mistake. I prefer people to tell me if I've made a spelling/grammar mistake on my poems so that I can improve my work.

But remember that on the posts, most of the mistakes are due to typing errors/speed errors...

If you don't spell correctly, you're not making an effort to perform one of the most basic functions of your entire education. Which marks you as either a retard or someone that really needs to do something else before poetry.

Beauty is in the eye of the holder some words are properly misspelled.
