Exorcism

Everyone gets a Priest in for exorcism's right? What if the ghost is say, a Muslim ghost or an Islamic ghost. Why is it going to listen to a Christian man coming in and chanting a few words throughout the house? If it has reason to stay there isn't it going to stay?
What are your thoughts on Exorcism?

That's not a problem, simply because Catholics deem themselves to be the authority on everything, just as every other religious denomination teaches that THEY are the authority over what is right and wrong.

There are no ghosts or demons that belong to any other denomination, there is only the devil and god, bad and good. The Catholics believe that they can banish evil with the help of THEIR God, or the one and supreme God. Therefore, it's not a relevent technicality.

I think that exorcism is sometimes necessary, but I dont have a Catholic or Christian belief system per ce, so my views on the subject are very unorthodox.

Only Catholics seek out priests to do their exorcisms, other religions would have other ways of dealing with such things.

Classical exorcism is a Catholic ritual, hence the need for a Catholic Priest.

Now, of course, exorcism is applied to every walk of life and doesn't need to be religious at all... funny how the world works. Take the bits of religion you think to be cool and stuff the rest.

Yeah I suppose. I just wondered if this was the case. It was something my dad brought up a couple of days ago and I've been thinking about it since. I thought it kinda made sense but after reading your posts, I've realised that it doesn't. Lol thanks everyone!
