Feminists vs. Chauvinists

Are feminists any less sexist than their arch nemesis, the 'male chauvanist pig'?

It's always appeared to me that fems are the twentyfirst century equivolent of a stone age man and are, in general (lets say 51% not because it's accurate but because I like 51%), whiny bandwagon jumpers with in built rebellious sexist attitudes.

Is it tit for tat retaliation to wolf whistles and cat calls or am I completely wrong? Are all feminists in reality really nice women, who are simply misunderstood?

I don't care either way, If feminists are sexist they're just balancing out the equation and if not, then I still get to have my fun in the high street. I'm just interested in YOUR opinion.

Feminists can be nice, however they sometimes take things too far. For instance, with regard to the fact that in the workplace today many women still get paid far less than their male counterparts for doing exactly the same job, they have a point. With regard to the fact that people always come into my place of work and ask to speak to 'the man,' even though 'the man' and I have the same level of seniority, I feel as if I have a point.

With regard to the fact that women might sometimes be whistled at in the street, I don't think they really have a point. It's a compliment, after all (albeit a very strange one). Something else I can't stand about the feminist argument is the whole 'I want to have a career *and* children one, and then expect to pass on their little darlings from pillar to post because they're a woman and they have the right to have both a career and children. It's not possible to effectively combine the two.

I think the whole feminist movement is just a reaction to centuries of being kicked about by men though.
