Swollen Lip

You might be having an allergic reaction to the metal or plastic used. Also you could have an infection. Are you cleaning the hole with salt water daily?

Everyone's different. I know people who got their tongues pierced and had them swell up and could barely talk. Others who got it done and were 100% ok. It just depends on you. Just do what they said and have no worries if it doesn't look as though it's infected.

It's possible the metals in your ears and mouth are different. The rod and holding stud are most likely either aluminium or stainless steel. I'm betting your earrings are gold or sterling silver.

Remember that the skin in and around your mouth is much more sensitive than that around your ears.

If it doesn't go down by thursday or friday I'd get it checked out just to be on the safe side.
