i hate when using the word retarded the most....i have a mentally retarded brother, and my mom works with MR kids.....and its just totally disrespectful to use that type of wording when speaking......

i do see your point but the word gay has many connotations. i dont even prefer to label a homosexual as gay, because i view them as being in fact homosexual not gay. if that makes sense.
i just prefer to use the correct term.

I see your point, and I am sorry to say that I also use the word "gay" when describing something distasteful.
it's wrong and I shouldn't so I'm attempting to break the habit, but here are reasons as to why it's used in this manner

I am most certainly not one of them, but as we all know many people do not accept homosexuals or see their lifestyles as "wrong". being homosexual is pretty much put into a negative perspective as far as society’s view goes, so when describing something negative, kids tend to use the word "gay".

It's not right, and shouldn't be used, but that's what's goin on.

I do use the word, but its not like people do it intentionally to hurt gay people. Its something they picked up. My brother uses the word, and it just kinda caught on to me. I'm trying to stop, because schools coming up, and I saw a LOT of kids get in big trouble for using it. I'm not homophobic, just lately, people catch the word.
