-The Walk You Love and Hate-

    Craving for it is hard
    it eats at you
    you walk by
    look inside and keep going
    you get that little guy
    pacing on your shoulder
    weighing you down
    you walk by again
    stop for a second
    and keep going
    his pacing back and forth
    you mimic his every move
from one corner to the other
    lighting up a cig
    just to stop that shaking
    you walk so much
    back and forth
    wearing at the sidewalk
    your own personal groove
    you pass by again
this time you take a deep breath
    but keep on going
you think of that sweet taste
    the feel you got
    when you first tried it
    it brings back memories
    good and bad
    from all those insane nights
    and mornings
    and days
    and weeks
you think of it so much
you almost sprint to the door
    but you hold back
    maybe you can forget it
    just light up another cig
    breath in the cancer
down deep into your black lungs
the little man is now running
    he hates you
he just wants to go inside
    but you resist
tell him to think it through
    you walk by again
    stop like the last times
    its different though
this time you go to the door
    this time you give in
the little man thought it through
    you turn the handle
    take your last drag
    and enter into another night
    memories will truly be had
