does any one know of any really scary films? i want a proper horror film that will scare me. i cant find one. its really bugging me now. I'll let you know how i get on.

Amityville Horror is pretty scary, but again I suppose it's more jumpy ..

I also have troubel finding films that will scare me, it gets annoying after a while!

Candyman has always freaked me out!

Alien is easily accessible for all ages as is The Thing. Boogeyman is about the best attempt at horror I've seen from the new wave film makers, but it falls short in critical areas once it decides to go down the digital route for the jumps and scares.

I wouldn't recommend many older, more classicaly aligned horror films as today's film market (which you have grown up with) lends itself towards an effects base to get the scares rather than older films which use creepier effects, shadows and lighting to get the desired chills.

If you want something effects free that just freaks you out look no further than The Shining.
