I'm looking for a laptop and on some of them it says Wireless Enabled yes/no. Does anyone know what this means exactly?

Also, if you have the USB pen thing that connects the internet in your house to many computers from one internet connection, do you need to have wireless enabled to pick up other connections from other places?

Wireless connections are used in conjunction with wireless routers to connect you to a network or the internet without the need for cables.

The yes/no option (usually a switch) is used mainly with Centrino laptops and is just an on off switch to save battery power if you are not using the connection.

I think that's what you were asking about. I hope I helped.

Ok in my computer we have a router and 2 USB thingys connecting two computers together from the same internet connection. Do you need wireless if you have a USB router? And can you use it in say wireless enabled laptop rooms, or anywhere that has an ethernet connection?

    Yeah you kinda helped!

No, you're connected by cable already.

And can you use it in say wireless enabled laptop rooms, or anywhere that has an ethernet connection?

If you have a LAN Network running then go Ethernet if possible, it will save you in the long run, if not then I'd suggest getting a wireless router. You'd probably need a new ADSL modem though as 99% of wireless routers use Ethernet cables and LAN connections rather than USB.

I use a Belkin wireless router cable linked to my pc and wirless linked to my wife's laptop.

You'll only need a wireless set up if your current system is preventing all of your systems connecting to the net.
