Harmony

One sunny afternoon on the playground
Two little girls in pigtails, holding hands
As they construct a castle of golden sand
The harmony of their laughter is all around

And nothing intrudes upon the glorious sound
No concerns beyond building a castle that’s oh-so grand
One sunny afternoon on the playground
Two little girls in pigtails, holding hands

Hand in hand, they brazenly dive into the mound
Destroying their whimsical castle made of sand
Squeals of harmonious pleasure as they land
Immersed in the friendship that they found
One sunny afternoon on the playground

I gave it a shot...

Death among the Leaves

Destined to die among the leaves
I lay, and wait, in autumn's chill.
The Shadowy figure; the coming kill
is the only thing my mind perceives.

Rewarded only by what he acheives.
He fears to fail, thus lurking still.
Destined to die among the leaves
I lay, and wait in autumn's chill.

"There lays a warrior", is what he conceives.
and thus he is struck by a misguiding thrill,
that lures him to think I will battle the kill,
but the fate that awaits me, he misperceives.
destined to die among the leaves.
