If he won't finish with his girlfriend then there's no point in being second best, you should stay good friends with him and hopefully he might change his mind in time.

He can't have both. Why would you want to be second best? I mean why would you wanna be with a guy who loves another girl more than u? Just stay friends until he breaks up with her, or just period because if he really liked you he would've broken up with his gf instead of cheating on her. That just tells you what type of guy he is.
