fictional correspondence with a poet

It was brilliant JHarrison, and I like the way Patchen wrote, but I am going to say something about that part from Patchen and you may not like it. Many of those metaphors about the earth and the people of the earth are not entirely new, especially the grasshoppers. Many of Patchen's ideas, and descriptions of things in this excerpt sound like things from Job, Ecclesiastes, and Psalms from the Bible. I am not downing it, I am just saying, an aweful lot of his metaphors are too similar to some of the metaphors found in those books.

My question then would be, are they suppose to be from the Bible or sound like it?

Thanks for clarifying cause I was in the dark about it. That does sound original and pretty interesting. Maybe I will read it if I have time.
