How lucky you are, you who are aout to read this poem for the first time. I hope your read it when your alone, and your flesh creeps, your skin crawls, and your blood turns to ice in your viens.

I had read lots of Poes works before, some short stories and poems. I had excepted the Raven to be the same thing. I was partly right. You find the same world in all of Poes works. Half horror, half ecstasy, But I hadn't excepted the power of the verse. I hadn't excepted to have my figers tapping, heart racing, and waiting the ravens downing relply, "nevermore".
    Read the poem please!

My mother read it to me when I was 7 years old. I've loved it ever since.
