Anyone seen this movie? I've seen it over 10 times and i still cry when i watch it, mostly when Harry calls Marion and she asks him to come home and he says he will later that day, and you know he isn't and it just kills you... Oh my love for that movie. It is terrifying but brilliant, it's the best movie i have ever seen..
    Anyone else think so.?

Yes, but not a movie I'd want to see repeatedly.

It was a horrifying film in a lot of ways but definitely a thought provoking film about the degradation and shattered lives that the characters in this film endure. I think it makes a strong statement about the nature of lonely lives and human discontent in modern civilization. And it points to the consequences that many of us risk when we make the mistake of looking for solutions outside of ourselves.

The author of both the original novel and the screenplay was cast as the "laughing prison guard" who appears near the end of the film. Ironically, he is laughing at his own characters.
