I dunon if this'll be helpful, but if you want it to look worn/torn and a little aged (it doesnt fade it, but it adds to a nice look) use the smallest hole spossible on a cheese grater to wear away at the surface.

I know it doesnt answer your question but it might help?

Other then that, I'd say...maybe use bleach. But like, apply it using a paint or toothbrush to control it.

    Thank you!

But I don't have a pool... sounds like that would work though. Someone told me to put a lot of bleach for colours... I did, and just ended up having the washing machine get a lot of bubbles. Lol.

I believe that you should have used chlorine bleach. The kind you used is intended to help remove clothing stains but prevent colors from fading. Chlorine is one of the chemicals that are added to swimming pools. The other common pool chemical is muriatic acid. I don't know if that would be safe in the washing machine.

To frey the collers, cuffs or knees use a pummice stone - the type you get from a drug store/chemist thats used to remove hard skin on feet etc. Just simply rub the edges and it wears away the material and the end look looks natural, and so gives the denim that worn and rugged appearance. A bit like me, I suppose!!
