ANY POETRY!! Contest.....

Hey I am having a contest... Obviously! Your poem can be As long as u want, as short as you want... any type of poem exept for Slang....I will be judging on Rhyme sceme, How well it flows, That it has meaning.. and above all, my personal preference..

Here are the rules:

1- one poem per poet
2- ABSOLUTELY NO plagerizing... must be origional by YOU
3- No slang poems.. i dont wanna have to TRY to read a poem, i just wanna be able to without all those slang words.. ugh...
4- Contest ends november 5th... so get your enteries in .. after the 5th any other poems entered wont even be looked at!!

1st place - 3 comments and 3 votes from me, and a spot on my favorites list

The Elegy of the Lovers

I cannot say in words how much I've loved
For words help not t'express the lover's wish.
Canst thou not see the pain of being unloved?
Or more the languid dolence we anguish?

Now I have lost yon opportunity,
The fire of love has burned this heart of mine
Crying, waning, yonder atrocities
Committed for love, for this thought of thine.

But I shall make myself an oak that stands
Upon thy doors and howls thy name fore'er.
And nevermore this pain will understand,
The love I have for thee, my dear girl.

The hills that sing and dream about thy love
Think not that they shall be eroded, yea,
The willows chant their elegy forgone,
And rot in fetid, rancid ideals.

And walkest thou in vainest thoughts and lies,
Laughing at the trees and hills that, for you, died.
Waiting for mine heart to expire its last sighs.

How beautiful thou seem'st outside,
The sun is but a phantom by thy side.

But nay!

Thy soul is cruel and cold, like the darkest night.

The Longest Kiss Good-Bye
By Loving A Lie

A tear that shed from your angelic eye,
Not the first, not the last.
In my arms, your sobs are muffled,
By the way you bury your face to my chest.
"It will be OK" could never be enough
Just to break apart the hurt you feel.
We will never meet again,
And it's killing me inside.
Just as I bury the feelings,
That you have no need to hide.
Words will never help,
They only prolong the pain.
As i lift up your chin,
You look into my eyes.
The pain I feel reflected,
Only through my eyes.
Our lips brush together,
We know that this good-bye.
Interlocking lips reveal interlocking feelings,
As time goes by, so does our last embrace.
Your smiling face, twisted into pain,
As you are ripped from my life...

I cry every night
I live in fright
What if he comes in my room again
I can't act like this is pretend
He hurt me so bad
It seems as though I can never be glad
He took my life away
Now I have to live in grief everyday
I was only fourteen
How could you be so mean
You raped me
Are you happy
Now all I can be is sappy
I feel as though I can't anymore
You destroyed my life hardcore
I hope you know what you have done
How could this be fun?
You sick minded freak

Passing By

Walking down the road
On a warm summer's day
Traffic zooming by her
As she strolls along her way

Popping her gum loudly
Staring at her feet
She looks up for a moment
And in that moment their eyes meet

Steadily approaching her
Is the man of her dreams
She takes a sharp inhale of breath
As difficult as it seems

Her pulse begins to quicken
Her palms are getting wet
The sensation in her belly
Makes her brow begin to sweat

He’s staring at her too
Staring deeply into her eyes
Her knees begin to weaken
She feels completely paralyzed

Captured by his eyes
She envisions their wedding day
She feels her hand inside his hand
Can hear the vows that they must say

Imprisoned by his gaze
She can feel his heart against her own
Can feel his lips upon her neck
Can hear the passion in her moan

Entangled in his stare
She can feel their happiness; she’s so amazed
Can feel the pride within her chest
For the children they have raised

Hypnotized by his look
She cherishes the memories that they share
Completely comfortable at his side
Adoring the gray that’s in his hair

And then the moments over
They pass by with a fleeting glance
She wants to tell him what she’s seen
But doesn't dare to take the chance

Oh how she hopes he felt it too
Images of ‘what could be’ in his eyes
Within the depths of a stranger
That she met while passing by

My Bestest Friend In The Whole Wide World

Its funny how me meet each other,
In my heart i know well be together forever.
I've known you forgoing over 2 years and more,
Sometime I wonder what life, love, and family haves in store.
20 months looking at me face to face the other 9 introducing yourself to me,
I know what ever God's plan is you will never need.
Your facial expression says you care,
When ever I'm lonely your always been there,
When I'm around you i feel so free,
When ever I'm sad she consoles me.
I can trust her with my secrets she'll never tell,
She is my best friend a angel to me that fell.
My first true love in life and I love her,
I'm proud to say my bestest friend in the whole wide world is my daughter!

The Two Mirrors

Quietly I stroll to my mirror,
Looking inside I see are all my fears.
What souls, so placid and cold,
Passing across my mirrors folds.
I lean in close and look in deep,
Praying to find something to keep.
Back and forth, my eyes do find,
Something to satisfy my withered mind.
Reaching into the cold shimmering glass,
My hand sinks in all too fast.
I find my arm on the other side,
To find what it is my heart abides.

My body steps through with a shuttering cry,
And I look around in fine surprise.
I glace about once more,
To find what my dear heart adores.
Something floating past my ear,
I reach out hoping this object will banish my fears.
My hands close around a mysterious thing,
And as soon as it does, it begins to sing . . .
I bring this glowing picture to my face,
And look at it with great growing haste.

I find myself looking in a mirror,
And realize I've found my greatest fear.
Reflected back to me,
Is something I never wanted to see;
A little girl bleeding from the wrist,
With a suicide note written in bliss.
So I lean closer and stare some more,
To find this little girl on the floor,
Staring at me with eyes open wide,
Begging me to be by her side.
But as much as I wish I could be,
I can not be, for this girl is me.

I keep writing sad things,
So I'm writing this to show,
That not all I think is bad,
I'm not always feeling low.

I can feel happy,
And on top of the world,
But I know the harsh reality,
I know that the world is cold.

I can feel full of sunshine,
And cherish every day,
But also like the darkness,
Thatâ??s all I have to say.

There's good and bad in everything,
Including within me,
But most people do not realise that,
And depressions all they see.

Inviting Affliction

Her eyes exhibit a cinnamon brown glimmer
With sleek raspberry hair to compliment
She struck my curiosity with her bubble gum lips
So soft, so smooth, so lustrously slick

The way she swayed her hips side to side
Revealed clusters of intimacy on her firmly-toned body
In the skin tight shorts and width-less strapped shirt
She seemed so confident, at the same time cocky

With all the right things, in all the right places
I don't blame her for being self-assured
She shows off her stuff; the guys can't get enough
So why not use her demeanor to lure

I know in abundance of her arrogant past
The lunch-line whispers and the hallway chatter
Convey the biography in every detail
But I can't say i care; rumors don't matter

I want to find out truths from fiction myself
That's why I managed to set up a date
Just me, and her, & the Eagle's Nest salad bar
This is my chance, I can't afford to make mistakes

I'm so nervous; what am i supposed to say?
Beads of sweat slowly recede down my face
With failure in sight, my voice trembles and cracks
As i sharply declare, "Let's get outta this place"

It's uncomfortable surrounded by all these nicely dressed people
I'll take you somewhere I can be myself
So I escorted her to a baseball game
A perfect place for those without svelte

I guess my spontaneity must have paid off
For blurry weeks came dazzling by
I kept her guessing, never looking ahead
Now I'm the one guessing on what she tried to imply

For some uncanny reason, I knew this was impending
She left for some guy with a new Cadillac
I should've stopped at the first indication
She was too inviting, I couldn't hold back

Damn did it hurt, when she spoke these words
And verified clearly my predictions
It is now undeniably a fact
She's simply a beautiful affliction

Lacking compassion, she divulged:
"cry me a river"
"build me a bridge"
"I'm sorry to tell you"
"this is how life really is"

If anybody see an exquisite girl
with piercing brown eyes & creamy dark skin
I give you this advice, her middle name's trouble
But guys can't resist the most inviting affliction

Promise

Another year have come and gone,
And you're still standing here today.
Be glad you're not six feet underground,

Please cherish every moment you have,
For every second could be your last.
Look forward to your future,
Never exclude us from your past.

Your emotional pain can never be erased,

Have the patience to wait with me,
While I clean up your emotional mess.

It's not often you find a friend,
Who could read your mind and soul.
One who could lead and also follow,
The path you chose to go.

I would be here many birthdays later,
And I hope you'll do the same.
For without you in my life,
I would choose myself to blame.

Please don't think I don't love you,
Because I haven't said it enough.
Because I do and always will,
Nothing can lessen this bond so tough.

There's two type of people who loves you,
And I'll name them both to you.
Your friends because they care,
And your family because they always do.

So when you're feeling down and sad,
Read this poem with my voice in mind.
Every word means "I love You."
And "I'll never leave you behind."

Hey everyone.. keep up the good work i cant wait to judge them soon! and o my god.. i cant believe Tara-Kay is a plagurizer... i mean after u looked at that liknu showed me! o my god.... well i went to go look at the rest of her stuff, and her account said it was suspended.. ugh.. i better not catch any of yOU doing that! but i know all of u are good writers and dont need to steal others work, your naturally good at poetry! well keep up the good work

A Soulless Fairy

You said you were my best friend,
And so I believe you,
But look what you did to me,
My heart is now broken into pieces.

You tell me your pain and sorrows,
But do you ever feel my sufferings,
All I ever did was try to help you out,
And now look what I get in return,

I never wish for anything from you,
The only thing that I want to maintain,
Is none other than our friendship,
That was meant to be forever.

But it turns out forever is fake after all,
My heart is broken, out friendship has fallen apart,
I no longer have a soul, and my wings are gone,
Now I'm left with nothing, I'm just a soulless fairy.

Why is it that we must forever care,
Care what others think,
Care what there opinions are,
Why cant we just be ourselves,
Not forever be oppressed,
We shouldn't fear what others think,
Should be able to be who we are,
Not put on an act for those around,
Such hatred exists in this world,
Such hatred that we fear all around us,
Prejudice prevents free will,
And individuals are crushed,
Why can't we just do as we please,
Why do people always get involved,
Stereotypes and hatred,
Are the curse of this world.
