You know what really grinds my gears; the fact that this movie Jarhead (which I will go see because it looks fantastic) will get the great reviews and votes it deserves and that these actors will get the compliments they deserve for being as realistic as you get, and get paid millions of dollars for a fucking movie while the men and women who were really there, who didn't just play the part but were the part, the people who risked their lives, won't see any of that money. That shit pisses me off. Those soldiers should get some sort of compensation from the producers of the movie. Everybody is going to give the writers, directors, producers, and actors a shitload of credit and money, but the soldiers won't see any of that. The soldiers get a check from the government for their services, a pat on the back, maybe an occasional "hey your a VFW, great job, we need more people like you" and then they have to come back to a normal job to help support the family they have just been away from for the last months or years, however long they were away. That's what really grinds my gears (Yes, the topic name was stolen from Family Guy) |

Yeah, American Dad is a huge failure, but Family Guy is great. Some of those soldiers get paid alot, but not all. They get paid a hefty amount for being oversees serving, but in the longrun it isn't that much. The actors will get paid more for this one movie than those soldiers will ever see. Being shot at and trying to keep from being shelled or gased is a little more extreme than getting into a role. I dont think those actors deserve that much money. |
