Local Bands gone Mainstream.

A lot of people hate it when their local bands go mainstream. I use to think those kids were selfish, until it happened to me. I listen to a lot of local bands, and one of them was Fall Out Boy. Everyone now knows them as a mainstream band, and yes, they are, but they obviously started out local. I knew them then, I went to their shows, and no one else was there. Slowly they got more popular, and all these kids started jumping the band wagon. I hated them for it, because I was there first, and now all of those kids are going to their shows, but they never really know anything else about the band. It made me jealous. But I am happy for the bands that make it big, because it is their goal in life, and they worked hard for it. But I'm upset, because it's like I lost them. But I can say alot of things, that other people can't. Like when I hung out with the guys of Fall Out Boy, when they came to Toronto. I showed them around town, and it was fun. I don't know, I'm in a band right now, and I would like to make it big too, so I guess I can't be upset with them for making it big. What do you guys think? Don't you hate it when local bands go big? Or are you the type of kid who will only listen to a band if they're played on the radio?

Nirvana was my local band that made it big....they didn't really change until Courtney Love showed up and everything went to hell. Seeing them at the 4th ave tav in Olympia Washington was alot better than at Key Arena or some large venue....smaller, more intimate show.
