    Hey guys and gals.

so i've been invovled in a debate concerning the worth ritual magick, and i find it an interesting subject, and am aware that there are many who profess an interest in witchcraft in here, so i thought i'd extend the question to you fine people.

I am of the opinion that one does not need to go through the process of ritual concerning magick if one has a sufficiently focussed mind, as i believe that is all the ritual does, focus the mind on the task at hand.

There are those however who oppose this idea and say that the benifit of ritual magick cannot be conveyed in mere words, and annoyingly, i can never understand it's worth unless i try it in earnest for about a year or so.

What think you on this subject?

Clearly that is the main purpose, I think i said that already.

What i'm trying to discuss Malfist, is that if that is the case, and there is no inherant "magick" in the ritual itself, then why bother?

Would it not be better to just practice focussing the mind without all the arcane and occult influence?

That is what i'm keen to discuss..i'm hoping one of you actually practices magick and can explain to me the benifits.

    OK now we're getting somewhere.

So if indeed it is only the belief of the individual that empowers any form of magick.

Then do you not all think that we should be aiming, as an ideal, to abolish magical practice in favour of a more reality orientated philosophy?

    I think so.
