RANT ~~ Maybe just a little selfish?

As I said in the Read/request section of the forum. It has become obvious to me that many poets on this site seem to only be here for an ego boost. (Or atleast partly) As I wander through the threads and pages, I see many people using voting and comments as a type of currency "VOTE AND COMMENT ON MY POEM AND I"LL VOTE/COMMENT 3 OF YOURS!!!" Last time I checked, poetry isn’t about response, or ratings. Its about getting your emotions out. I understand wanting people to read your poems, also wanting to hear their opinions, but when you take it to this extent it seems like you are selling your thoughts just to get a small compliment… I hope this doesn’t offend anybody, but this is how a lot of people around here have come across to me…. Again I’ll end it with this… I was once told by a man, that poetry is priceless. To me you’re all putting a price on your poems.

yeah, i don't post stuff like i'll comment on 3 of yours... sometimes i'll ask for feedback if i'm not sure it's good or for advice. i always do return the favor though, i know everyone loves that.
