I'm in 8th grade, and I applied to a high school where you must be accepted into, and will help me become the writer I've always dreamed of becoming. Well I got in and I'm so excited, but I don't know if this is the school for me.
If I attend this school, I'll be breaking a family tradition, and making new friends(which I'm NOT very good at), and then LEAVING my friends at my old school. It's also a 30 minute drive.
I'm so confused on what to do, and I need help.

I'd recommend you follow your dreams, and also think in the long run which would be more beneficial to your future... It's incredibly hard to make a big change like this, and it's human to have doubts, but I'm sure your family and friends will stick by you whichever you choose... And besides, when you start, everybody will be the same as you - nervous, thinking they won't make friends, etc... and you'll find you just start getting to know people.

I'm sure you'll make the right decision, but don't be afraid of a challenge. Hope that helps a little, take care x

I have to agree. Follow your dreams. Do you want to grow up and regret not at least trying? do you want to always ask yourself "what if?"

Lets face it too, after high school will you still keep in touch with all of your friends from middle school? and after university? wont you have to make new friends there? and work? life is meeting new people... to stay in the same group all your life would be a boring prospect to me.

It's going to be hard and scary and I think thats why you are having second thoughts but you need to remember this was your dream it's what you have been waiting for and if it's a school where other people are also following the same dream as you don't worry your going to find some great friends who share the same interests
