Ok my art exam is next tuesday and wednesday (21st + 22nd) and the topic is memories. Now I have NO IDEA whatsoever on what to do, and ANY ideas would be appreciated. It has to be a painting. And any artists you can think of that link to memories would also help! Thanks! |

Yeah I was thinking of painting my school nursery picture, but I want to make it more interesting. I may take your advice ^^^ and put other memories around it, and interlocking etc. Text, pictures and things. Thanks everyone! |

can you use mixed media? maybe newpaper clipings of events that are important to you? tickets from concerts, photos and all that malarky? or maybe a mirror looking into the future but seeing the past if that makes sense? lol o well i guess i shouldnt be handing out advice.. i get the shock of my life finding out i just scraped through passing each year =) good luck with your painting!! |

"Maybe draw from the perspective of someone- everything they see. Like, draw a box full of things like post-it's and old-looking photographs, notes, newspaper cut-outs and have a hand, a very aged-old-looking hand reaching into the box grasping onto one of the items inside it. So it looks like its what the old person is looking at, so you can only see their hands, as you would looking down onto a box you're holding yourself?" |

All art must come from the self, it is a deeply personal expression of emotion, so the best ideas will be your own. Sit alone for a while and sift through your memories in your own mind. Find the stongest ones, the most important, then you can link them to objects like souvenirs that connect you to special times. |

Look at some Dali and see what memories they bring to the forefront of your mind. |
