THE ROBIN FLEW AWAY * By Dhaval *

Today I saw a Robin perched upon my pane
His eyes so blue, made me think of you
But as I gazed, it suddenly flew
And left me with but that tint of blue

Somehow it seems, joy forsake me
And with the bird. hope fluttered away
For now I knew that two weeks were left
‘Til like him, you too would fly away

But now I see the glass half full
    Maybe this goodbye isn’t forever
Life’s too long not to meet again
This isn’t the final parting ever

Just as the robin shall soon come flying
To adorn my window once again
So shall you magically drop from the sky
If not as an angel, perhaps as rain

It won’t be very long before
I can see that smile of yours, so sweet
After two weeks, I know you’ll leave
But I know our roads are destined to meet

Imagine me as I walk in a café
    Unaware of the shocking surprise
As we see each other on opposite tables
And I am greeted by that splendid smile

Or one day our cars might collide
I know first anger shall swamp me
But upon knowing it is you who drive
It’ll turn to bliss, like alchemy

Or at the wedding of a common friend
    Commonness unknown, till we meet
Or simply on a rainy day, on a rainy street
We’ll stumble upon each others feet

But something doesn’t feel too right
    These happy dreams themselves assault
As the robin’s unending absence I perceive
Yours too, as imagination comes to a halt

How I hate the power of this mind
A summer dream, clinging to hope
Its imagined things never to be
How will this forsaken me, ever cope?

But presently, I’ll just bottle up time
And try and force a hopeful grin
That one day we three shall meet again
I, you, and the blue-eyed Robin.......

    *******************************************
The metaphor would be the Robin.

    it is kind of:

The hard firm ground shivers beneath me
i shake from head to toe
is it so hard for you to see
that is earthquake is scaring me

i look to see you turn about
    and run as i watch
    you leave me behind
and go on with your life
    while i die all alone

    Turtle in a Shell

    I'm a turtle in a shell
Of the finest greens and blues
    But underneath I'm rough
If you do not tell the truth

My shell is made of stained glass
    My other broke apart
    Someone crushed it
    When they broke my heart

    I'm a turtle in a shell
I have black and silver skin
I'm so dark, but so beautiful
These are what I feel within

    My stained-glass shell was made
When I fell back in love
But this time it went see-through
Since number two ain't number one

    I have pearl-gold eyes
In which I see the world
    Everything is precious
    It's a flower that's unfurled

I swim in a little pond
    With fish and crocodile
It might seem a little scary
But I'm okay every single time

One day I will grow up
    And truly leave my shell
    But right now I'm okay
    All is going well

The pond and all it's animals
    Are friendship and my friends

    The shell is my love
The colors are how I loved them true

My skin is how different I am
My eyes are how I see things

    For I am the turtle
    A unique
    Turtle with a shell...

    ~Beyond A Cover~

    I am but a book,
    a book beyond a cover.
If you step inside my cover and look,
a whole new world you will discover.

At times the words do not make sense,
and at times I stutter and stumble.
Sometimes my thoughts are too immense,
and my mind and body crumble.

Sometimes my pages are tattered and torn,
    from issues in the past.
You should understand why my cover is worn,
because of all the problems I've had to outlast.
But this is all fine, as long as you see,
that when you look past my cover there is much more to me.
