You still want me to come around
and I like the way it sounds
but overtime you slipped away
and there's only one thing I can say
Nobody knows the way I really feel

As i sit here playing my guitar
all i think about is you
and the times we spent together
are the memories that will last forever

For today is a new beginning
and i can't say i don't care for you

Let me explain how much I care for you

Hold on to your dreams like a mother holds on to her child

Smile as if it were your last smile that you will ever show

Tell it all and don't hold back just like a bird sings to the world

Laugh at loud as much as you can and you will surely glow

Run to the edge of the world and still further than that

Jump up and down I will catch you if you start to fall

Climb up a tall mountain and I will follow you all the way

When you stumble or make a mistake just stand up tall

Cry on my shoulder and I will dry all your tears

Hold my hand and we will make it through

I will wipe that frown away from your face

We will make it all the way just me and you

Let your laughter be the sun through other peoples rain

Don't let them get you down just keep on going strong

And don't let them contradict you or say you're a liar

Take pride in what you know and don't be afraid if your wrong

Now that I have told you all of this I hope you will know,
Exactly how much I care for you

The words swirl golden
thick, rich, like molasses
from a pale blue Ball jar
poetry in deep amber
distilled life

Promise shadowed
by the barrier that keeps it
inside enticing, inviting
tightly held inside

the vessel of my mind
holds my soul captive
the world only sees
through the glass darkly
admiring but afraid

to open is to see
voluptuous thought expressed
gentle, warm, sweet
pungent, embracing
the hidden places where
hearts roam free
unfettered
unseen
protected

please do not let
my voice stay silent
please taste
from the pale blue Ball jar
do not leave it
pristine
on the shelf of
unlived dreams
