The meaning of this quote

Silence has value only if it is in reaction to some form of communication i.e. the written or spoken word, or demeanor. Thus some form of communication as an essential for silence to have any value at all.

the silence allows us to fill it with words,a nd our thoughts of poetry. if there was no silence, there wouldn't be a poem, because we couldn't think.

you have to say other things to represent other objects/feelings a poem is a puzzle you have to put to gether the peices to find out what is not there =]
