Rise of Nationalism in England

Today on the so-called news it has, disturbingly, been reported that there is a strong growth in support of the BNP(British Nationalist Party). I wonder how many of you, on both sides of the atlantic, and indeed anywhere else on the planet, feel and think about this?
For me I see this as an inevitable knee jerk reaction to the lies that our politicians have fed us for the past few decades. However, this will mean an increase in racism here, as if it isn't bad enough already, and many other narrow-minded policies being introduced. Of course I'm painting the worst case scenario here, that being if they actually managed to gain power. Whilst that may seem fictional, it wasn't that long ago in terms of history that a nice young man by the name of Adolf was getting into power by feeding off of peoples fears. And indeed, being supported by both English and Americans before the truth began to seep out...
These people are very dangerous and really must not be given the time of day let alone the power they so lust after in order to implement their truly messed up mind set upon others.
    All hail discordia.

Hmm, Beyond, may I point out that one of the strong holds for the BNP is Bradford, which has one of the largest Asian communities in England.

I agree with you about nationalism if you refer to devolution as opposed globalisation.

Yes it's right to fear our prime minister but also Bush as well, the two of them would be happy to have the world American.

As for god... if you mean the churches, well they have now lost the power they once swung through europe, although having said that, it appears that it will be the fundamentalist moral majority who will oppose and get rid of Bush, judging from the sounds coming out of middle America...

The rise in the far right is unfortunately, not just a British problem, it's happening throughout Europe. These poeple target the disenfranchised and the uneducated, both easy targets, placing blame upon the immigrant commmunities, most of whom have been here several generations.

What we need a revolution... :-))

Yea, okay, my superego could be exaggerating slightly about the European bit, however, facism has always been rife in Italy, Spain, France and particularly in Germany; there are groups in the northern countries as well, and they are fairly vociferous in what they'd like to see for our future.

Isn't the revolution already happening? I mean, to quote Gil Scott Heron, 'the revolution will not be televised.' We have a great group of anarchists here who paste intelligent extras to billboards. Good fun stuff.
However, the masses are asleep and following along like sheep...
As for the potential, almost inevitable Iranian war, America not only has bases surrounding the country but they also, like ourselves have been selling Iran weapons so that they can think that they'll be protected from the bully boys of the world.
Terrorist = freedom fighter. There is some speculation as to whether Al Quida isn't just an American invention... ha ha... I think not myself, but I also don't rule out anything in this fractious world of ours.
The PLO are seen as terrorists, but I have always supported them in their struggle for freedom...

Power doesn't necessarily = corruption, power is an energy that can be misused as much as the energy of love. I'd say that corruption is do with greed more than anything...

Incidentally, your posted age... not that it matters to me, but surely you're a bit older than that. lol's

    Go well

Well, what part do I wish to play, anything that doesn't buy into the paranoia of pension schemes, or any of that kind of s***!!! LOL.
We need more people like you on this planet Beyond, you must be an old soul, that's what I've been accused of... I started teaching my mother when I was 13/14, but that's another story...

At the moment, being a fairly accurate but out of practice marksman, I'd go for assasination of anyone opposed to the improvement of life for all my relatives, I mean ALL my relatives, not just humans, we share this world with myriad of species which are of course rapidly disapppearing at seemingly, an exponential rate, let's hope not eh?

The problem we seem to face though Beyond, is the bleating of the sheeple, any truth put into these poor creatures sphere of reality tends to result in either violent knee jerk reactions of disbelief, or burying heads in sand... incidentally, ostriches do not bury their heads, they have more brains than the average sheeple... ha ha

Respect to you awake one, welcome to the wake world...
And as for me thinking that I know what I talk about, haha, that's a good one - rolls around on the floor in agonising guffaws - that's one of the problems of this society, you know there was a time when we were free to think in our own way... now there's this expert and that expert, and you know where they learnt their knowledge? From some other expert! So with, for example psychiatry - the scariest profession on the planet - if something doesn't fit the map, it must need filling up with medications that are generally untested, until it does fit, or pretends to fit through a smog of drugs...
I could go on, but I'm getting drowned out by the bleating...
Yes there is a conspiracy of our leaders to undermine personal freedoms and power, and they will go about ANY means to get the result they want...

    All Hail Discordia
