What is your opinion about teens joining the military after they graduate highschool? Oh and have you ever heard of the buddy system? One of my friends told me about it. If you have heard of it, can you explain the system to me?

A guy in my year quit school early last year to join the military, he's now 17 and serving in Iraq. I think it's something the person themselves must decide, some people feel fit that they have to serve their country in order to feel some self worth. And another guy in my year is leaving soon to join the army because his father did at his age and this guy wants to follow his footsteps as he has been brought up around the military forces.

Yeah..I do think it is just a personal choice but I am just wondering what others think of the topic. I think I might join the military whenever I get out of highschool..I mean..I know I am really young and still have a few years, but it is something you really need to think about I guess. It has been on my mind alot lately.

Now can anyone explain the buddy system to me or send me some site links?? It would mean alot. Thanks.

One of my old friends is in the army cadets and she wants to join the army soon, which I think is prett cool. She started deciding at about your age so it's good to start thinking ahead. It's hard work though apparently!

And I have no idea what the buddy system is sorry.

I think that with it's scholarships and things, it's a good idea, but all based on if the person wants to do it or not.

Well yeah..I told the a person that I might go and he told me that if I go, he has to go. He told me that he would never let me go alone.

Not if you live it day by day. Take risks. Live life to the fullest..
