Tonight I found out that my mum wants to either give my dog away or put to to sleep because she doesnt want to take care of her anymore. I dont live with my mum and my appartment building does not allow pets. I told her before I moved out that as soon as I could move into a place where pets were allowed I'd take back my dog. She tends to be a little on the crazy side and is mad at me even though i've done nothing wrong? This is her way of getting back at me! Do you think she has the right to make a decision like this knowing my plans for the dog? If you don't agree with her, what could i say to make her understand how I feel and get her to keep the dog until I get a new place? |

I dont think alot of people realise how big a responsibility a pet is, from finance to emotional baggage...it must be hard for your mum and try to understand her reasons, why should she after all be left to care for your animal. I understand your also in a situation at the moment but try and see her side and come to a mutual compromise with her |

Noooo. You cannot kill a dog! That is so VILE. Ok wait. Where do you live- I'll adopt the dog! (Ok, not really: but just don't 'put it to sleep'.) I would take it, depending on its age and breed (Pure black and white huskie aged 1.2 months =]). |

I know I should respect my mum's feelings and I would have no problem with it, its just that she's the one who wanted the dog in the first place! She moved into a building that allows pets just so she could keep the dog! Its not because its a big responsabilty that she wants to get rid of it, I mean, she's almost more attached to the dog than I am! Its because she's holding a grudge against me for liking my dad's new girlfriend. Its the 2nd time she pulls this. She knows that the dog is my weak spot, and she goes right for it everytime. If that wasnt the case, I think I'd be more understanding. I just dont see why she has to act this childish. :( |
