ok i met this guy by a friend on msn... and he seems nice and everything but how do i know hes not 50? and hes just some teenager.. i never seen a pic of him... but he sounds ok.... ihow do u know if he was some pervert?

It doent matter your taking a huge risk at your age getting involved in an online relationship with someone you dont know - dont get me wrong he could be a lovely person, but he sould also be the 50yr old pervert your talking about...

Here's what I did:
I met one of my friend's online but here's how I handled it. I talked to him online for a while and told my mom that I've been talking to him online and that I wanted to call him. My mom said I could. The second time I called him (My mom gave me 15 minute limits on phone calls for a while) my mom talked to him and then talked to him online. I saw his picture, a couple different ones, and I talked to his parents when he wasn't home which helped establish that he had been truthful about things he said. My mom's spoken to him on the phone once in a while after that and online.

Well....that's good that things worked out alright for you. But not every situation can go that way.

I live in Chicago. On the news TONIGHT, May 17, they were talking about this guy that just got arrested for something like he. GRANTED...he was 23, and the girl was supposed to be 16....but still. Luckily, the girl he had been talking to was an undercover cop. He got arrested. But still. You never know who you are talking to. Just be careful and if you ever EVER want to meet this person, do NOT do it alone. EVER. That's how girls get rapped, kidnapped, killed. Even boys. BE CAREFUL!!! The internet is very dangerous. Watch what you say and do.
