A moderator locked that one when he shouldn't have. We're currently addressing that issue. The thread that was locked is currently being continued in the Members' Messages Forum.

okay so why in general do threads get locked?

if they're getting too long, or if there is already a thread on the topic, if it is an old thread that someone randomly bumped to the top, if the original poster requests that it be locked, if the consistant posters agree that it should be locked, if the discussion has deviated extremely far from the thread's intended topic, if the thread is filled with nothing but slanders and insults -- those are all reasons why i'd lock a thread.

and by the way why do people get banned of chatrooms is it for the same reasons?? and how does it happen?? do you get warnings or just get kicked off??

Some people have been kicked off in the past, and are on a list of banned individuals. Some of them come back on with different names and accounts, so you might see them get kicked off because they were previously banned.

When people get banned/kicked from the chatrooms, it is for violating the chat rules. Read the chatroom rules for details on that subject. Moderators do the kicking/banning. Some mods probably warn people first. I'm not a chat room mod, just a forum mod.
