Psychology is the study of the human mind and behavior. That about sums it up. I plan on majoring in psychology when I get back to college. If you're interested in psychology, take a psychology 101 course in college, or if you're in high school and they offer it, take it there. That will open you up to the different types and fields of psychology. If you are really interested in psychology and think you're going to persue a career in it, I would personally suggest you take some philosophy courses, also. Philosophy is the study of the human condition. They kind of go hand in hand, depending on what field of psychology you go into. But it would be a good thing to take at least a couple courses in philosophy with a psychology major. Anyway, that's my thoughts on the subject.

I'm starting college in Sept, and am taking both Pyschology and Philosophy.

Was there any aspect you specifically wanted to know about? I know the odd bits here and there.

Psychology is the habit of giving names to humans bahaviours in such a way that you do not really understand anything better, you just have a title for it can access it in your brain faster.

Kind of like having hundreds of seperate word documents on your computer that you have written...psychology is like putting them all into easy to access folders.

It's a fine thing to stugy...especially the humanistic and behavioural perspectives...but stay away from Freud....he was sexually into his Mother...and really...who wants psychological advice from someone like that.
