1. Unique: There are dozens of threads here saying to read this and that the person may or may not return the, "Favor." But instead of just writing down the title, explain whatthe poem is about, what section it is found in, what you think of it or what inspired you to write it.
2. Don't just say you'll return the, "Favor." and write down a one sentence that you could have easily copied and pasted into everyone's poem. Some peopel take the time out to read yours so you please do the same. This works for people leaving comments as well. Specify that you want to know what the reader feels or thinks when reading your poem. Ask them to leae what could be improved or what was weak. What they liked or why they disliked a certain part.
3. Do not judge a poem because you do not agree with the message. Judge the poem on it's words, flow, symbolism, depth, etc.
4. If you want votes specify. Tell them that if they rate it low, you won't be offended, but would like a comment teling exactly why they voted that way. If you don't then if people keep voting high, once they hit the top rated boards you might find votes getting lower by peopel who judge the poem a lot more than the people who might just be getting a good vote in return.
5. Do not post please read a half hour after posting your message just to bump the thread up. POsting that too much may distract readers.
6. Make your title stand out for your request thread. Avoid please read or I'll double it etc.
