So I climbed a fruit tree: shook free a pair.

(Faffing rhymes with laughing, but it's local slang I've not really heard outside the North of England - it's means "dithering".)

I got stuck at the top, a canary gave me a scare.

wow this is slightly confusing is the game even still on or what is going on. I think someone should start this game over and see where it goes
