Writing a Book... Need Your Help!

Hi-

I'm in the process of writing a book. I need 50 poems that deal with custody and divorce to include in my book. The focus of this book will mostly be on the children affected by this painful process. I'm hopeful that my book will help others to stop and reflect on the decisions we as parents make and how it affects the children involved.

The title of my book will be called, "Mommy, when will it end". This poem is about my 7 year-old daughter. You can find it in the "Friends... Family" section on this website.

Have any poems I could consider for my book? Please share!

First of all, I just want to say that your children have got beautiful names! =D

I haven`t a poem currently about that subject, but I would definitely write one for this purpose! I think it`s so cool that you`re going to write a book! Is it going to be published? If so, no doubt I`ll be first in line to buy it!!

I`ll do my best to write a poem about children affected by divorce, as I`ve been through the process and therefore have experience. Should be fun!

Thank you for the response. Yes, this book will be published. I will give a complimentary copy of my book to all the writers whom I've chosen a poem from. You'll also receive full credit for the writing of your poem in my book.

I also need a two or three paragraph explanation of the story behind the poem and what prompted you to write it.

This sounds very exciting! I simply cannot wait to get to work on this poem and see what you think. So, about this "receiving full credit" ;; does that mean my name will be in the book? That would be kind of cool.

Okay so a couple of paragraphs explaining it all? That`s no problem.

I`ve just got a couple of questions. First of all - when do you need this poem // explaination completed and turned into you? I`m sure I`ll be getting to work on it this afternoon as I want to make sure it`s my best possible work - but I`ll need an idea of how much time I have.
Another question - How do I send you the poem? Do I e-mail it to you, or do I post it in this forum?

I can try and write a poem sense my parents are getting a divorce right now..... It gets really hard somethimes you know? But yeah i will try and think of a poem to write for you.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. It's not fair, I know. All three of my children had to endure the same ordeal.

Keep in mind that, if you do choose to write a poem, it will be going to a good cause. My hope for this book is to reach as many parent's hearts as possible. This book may not stop the divorce process of those reading it, however, it may help soften the affect the children are having because of their parents choices.

Hey - If I have time this weekend, I'd love to read through your poems. I do have a lot going on this weekend with my daughter and may not get to it for a while. I read and commented on your poem. Thank you so much for sharing. I enjoyed reading it even though it was so sad. I felt real, true, helpless emotions running through it. I would love to include this in my book.
