Sick american soldiers

I just read another article about the 14 year-old Iraqi girl whom 4 American soldiers raped, and then set on fire. (They also murdered three of her family members

How do you guys think these soldiers should be punished?

As I see it, death-penalty is in its place. this was a well-planned murder, and people sick and evil enough to do such things does not deserve to walk another day.

I agree with you. If what you say is even partially true , then they should be killed.

    Life imprisionment.

The death penalty is much more expensive, and maybe not the worst thing (as said above).

It's a tricky situation, nothing is ever black and white, except when it's someone you love. Strange gives colour to everything, but when something damages something you love everything turns to black and white, and red.

These soldiers did an awful thing, no way around that. But who pumped them full of propangda, trained them to be violent, sent them into a place of boredom and lack of self expression? I'm not trying to justify what they did...but, well I've been not the best person in the world in my time, and it wasn't that I am inherantly good or evil, it was the environmental situation and the people around me, and of course a choice on my part.

But, well, people get angry and stop asking why.

So kill revenge away. yay justice.

It is of course a tricky situation, but after what I have read (not that I blindly believe it), they had planned this for some time, which at least proves that it was no impulse-act.

A life in prison would probably suck more than death

you may think that life in prison is worth than death, but their is a crucial overlooking that people make in this area: life in prison is still life.

None of us knows if life in prison is better than the death penalty; we just assume it because none of us have died, and obviously many believe there must be something better after death. Well, what if after death is worse than this. Then you would all say kill them. Life in prison is still life; so therefore, I maintain they deserve the death penalty.

And I know of plenty of ways they could be killed that is cheaper than lethal injection. Someone could frag 'em while they are still over there. Then they die and it really isn't that expensive.

Some of the other ways still do cost more then life imprsionment. And also some are now considered illegal, so they couldn't do them anyways!

dwelt, you obviously misunderstood me. Even those who have spent time in jail don't know if it is better or not beceause they haven't died. My point is no one knows if death is worse because none of us have died; we don't know if after death is worse or better either. You have obviously not died, nor experienced what comes next ; therefore you do not know if life behind bars is worse than the death penalty or not.

If what comes after death is worse than anything a person could experience on earth everybody would be jumping up and down saying kill them. My point is life in prison is still life. Where ever there is breath there is a hope and a chance. The death penalty illiminates any thread of anything they could still hold onto in this world.

Whatever happened to the saying "two wrongs DON'T make a right"

Heather, who said the death penalty is wrong, especially while you people are speaking of trying to give these guys "worse" punishments than death. According to most people here death is an easy way out. So why is my argument for the death penalty wrong.

  • Heather

I didn't mean it was really wrong. I was just saying if someone killing someone else is horrible, then why go and kill them too? Isn't that just as bad? So I wasn't saying your argument was wrong. Just giving my point of view is all. Which is that I'm very against the death penalty. I think most of the methods are cruel and unusual punishment, especially lethal injection.

Throw them in prison, and push them so they drop the soap.

    Shoot the bastards.

They give soldiers all over the world a bad reputation. Stamp out the criminals and keep the tough stance. It's the only way to maintain a semblance of conmtrol in the eyes of the media. Anything else will be seen as weakness.

yeah... go life imprisonment! Lets spend $50,000 a year of tax payer's money to keep each and every one of these people alive.

And life imprisonment allows visitors, conjugal rights, tv a pool table, exercise and mostly everything else we get except they don't pay for it and can't go to McDonalds for lunch.
