I have really curly hair too. Mine gets incredibly frizzy too. If you wanna get it really straight what I do is make sure it's totally dry. Other than that you need one of those really expensive hair straighteners that work really well. Cause I used one of my friend's straighteners (she has an expensive one) and my hair went completly straight after I used it & stayed that way for 2 days. Other hair styles you can try are like putting it up in a messy bun, using hairclips and putting it in a half pony tail. And if you have the frizzy problem like me Friz ease shampoo works amazingly well. It's kinda expensive, but those products work really well.
    Hope I helped.

I have really curly hair too! my mom straightens my hair, and the way she does it is she blowdries it straight first and then flat irons it.

if it gets dry then wash your hair and deep condition it before you straighten it. that should help too! i suggest using Pantene Pro-V Treatment. it softens your hair and smooths it out.

not that i can think of... unless you are going to get it professionally done.

    OOH!

when you flat iron it, use bed head straightening spray!!

Ummm only use that hairspray AFTER your done ironing okay...the flat iron will help straighten it quickly but I would go over it with a blow to style it and whatever you do dont over use any products...nothing more unattractive than a chick with too much hair product in....a lil hairspray to keep your fly aways down is all you need.

I use Tresemme shampoo, conditioner and Heat defense spray. I also have REALLY curly hair and straighten it, and find that using only Tresemme products have helped it stay straight. Apparently the heat defense spray coats your hair with a lining of Latex (which i personally don't believe, a friend told me).
I also find allowing it to dry after I have used heat defense spray without blowdrying helps this too ..
It quite often goes wavy if there ismoisture in the atmosphere though ... :S

I have exactly the opposite problem...my hair is really straight. No fun. It keeps on slipping out of my ponytail and clips.

    Ah, well.

Pulling it back could help, and there are lots of anti-frizz shampoos. Pity there isn't a shampoo to make STRAIGHT hair curly.

For straight hair you could do what my friend did. She tried that new Herbal Essence shampoo & it really made her hair a little more curly. And she can never get it to curl.

    well . . .
if you want it to be straight, get perm solution
even tho its to make your hair curly.
put it in your hair and brush your hair straight.

    BAM MAKES YOUR HAIR STRAIGHT

I occasionally wear my hair curly, and to get rid of the frizz, believe it or not I use Garnier Sleek and Shine.

I have very curly hair and I never straighten it. If you want to cut your hair short, texture it, even if it's long. I use Catwalk Curl Amplifier. It's just a cream and I only use about a coin size dallop and rub it on my hands, then I finger comb it through already combed, but damp, towel dried hair, and then I comb it again and just let it dry. It works good on frizz and defines the curls a little bit more.

I find Pantene Pro-V Smooth and Shiny ( not quite sure on the name ) shampoo and conditioner work the best.

my hair... i cut it really short once... and i layered it when i did, but my hair is so thick it needs to be weighed down so it got really big... like afro big. it was trying to eat my hair or something... i dont know. but anyway im growing it out to the middle of my back (again). yeah i cut it ALL off. from the middle of my back to my chin.
