Martial Arts Panic

Well, in approximately two weeks I will have my first exam, to pass from white belt to white-and-yellow belt.

I cannot begin to describe how petrified I am.
There is so much involved in passing from grade!
First, the kata, a series of choreographed movements...
well, not TOO difficult. Then, as many push ups and sit ups as you can manage in a minute. The most difficult, I think, will be somewhere between the squat-jumps, which I currently manage about five of, and you are supposed to do about 40 in a row, or the breaking of the wood.
I have never broken wood in my life, much less with my elbow!

Oh well... that is that. The above wasn't meant to be understandable, I just need to vent the panic that has been gathering in me...

they will take your age into consideration most martial art clubs give the first belt away because you have shown dedication to the club and spent your time doing it. as for the wood hit as close to the middle as you can... it's actually really easy to do... till they make you use the outside of your foot and spin a 360

    Ohhh... thank you so much.
Yes, I realized that it is relatively easy to break things, I mean, I have seen door almost being unhunged, and chairs breaking with someone's weight.
I don't go to a martial arts club, a friend teaches me, but he has been very professional about it, and has been a very good teacher.
Well, the first belt is not counted, it comes with the kimono, the second (white-and-yellow) is what you have to pass the exam to get.
I worry that I am not fit enough, but my teacher said that mostly it is a state of mind, the ability to keep on going past exaustion.

    Thanks for all your help.
