Reading, Rating

I have been talking to several other new writers to this site. I would like to know why there isn't a section for new writers. Much of my stuff goes unread. I really want comments . Its how you grow as a poet. When reading other poems, I notice the only ones who get alot of comments orvotes are those who have all the awards. I am not the only one who thinks this. I have several new people who have just started recently on my favorites list.,because they are that talented. I have alos read poems from people who have many awars and some of thier stuff positively stinks. I think the voting is a popularity contest, and people are afraid of honestly critiqueing other's peotry. You can offer suggestions without being nasty, and if people get offended by suggestions they shouldnpt post. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

I think the best way to get the people to vote for you is to simply vote for others and leave a comment for them. That is how I've been doing it and I'm pretty new here. I have heard from others that the voting thing really sux. I believe I checked some of your poems!

Ive been on the site with this account since november 05 and before that for a few months.
The voting doesnt "suck" as you put it, its just that anyone can vote and people downvote for different reasons.
if you want comments, dont be afraid to ask. I know there are talented people here that are new and i read there poems alot, and some of the older members are polular.
just comment on other peoples and ask if they could return the favour.
I will check out a couple of yours now.

The thing is that some people have on their poems and requests: DON"T VOTE LOWER THAN A FIVE. And people fall for that. True, some people with high awards have terrible poems but so do people with no awards at all. Some people can't handle a honest review. I've gotten hate mail before because of that and some people can take that which is when I usually get thank you emails. I'll echk your stuff out but remember it depends on the person. Thanks for the comment. Its just that I was frustrated. I do read and rate many pioems each day. I do like constructive critism, and if I get it, I usually edit the poem. Thanks for your honesty. Iwill be checking out your stuff. Thanks Loretta
