black hair!!!

Okay...I have a question which me and my friend and my mother have debating on for awhile now...I'm not a very tan person but i want my hair black..but people say that dark hair doesnt look that great on a not so tan person...they say it kind of makes them look pale...Does the majority of people think that...or do you think it could look good on someone not so tan..

ohhh sorry Nelle I think that too....I'm a not so tan person...well in winter im not....but black doesnt look good on me because im pale.....hair n clothes wise...but hey...just experiment.....you never know until you try

I think black hair with pale skin looks fine. But to be on the safe side you could use a semi-permanant dye to start off. Like the kind that washes out in 8 or so shampoos.

Well Im not that tanned although I should be naturally I stay out of the sun for obvious reasons and I have black hair. I think regardless of your skin colour it depends on your features, do you have deep dark features? What colour are your eyebrows? What base tone is your skin?

Well my eyes are brown...and im not white white i do have some colour just not as much as I used too..So I don't really know Lol...but thanks for all of yall's opinions...I still don't know what to do though...but the more opinions i get i'll figure it out! =D

Wear a black wig... that's one way of finding out what you think of it.
Personally I like the "vampire" look that is attained by having pale skin and very black hair, but in some cases it could emphasive dark rings under eyes, and other imperfections.

That is very true...but i love the 'vampire' look type thing...but it might possibly show dark rings to ...i mean i used to have real bad dark rings..but not now so idk if it would look bad or not! oh well I guess I could get a wig to see!!!

I dyed my hair two days ago in....black. I'm not tanned either but it sure looks nice with my complextion. I think it depends on the shape of your face and the color of your eyes. If you really like it, I would say...go for it!!

I just talked my Mom into letting me dye my eleven year old sister's hair black. She's very light complected but it looks really good on her.

Like other people were saying it depends on your features. If you want first I'd suggest dying your hair dark brown, and if that looks good (darkness wise) then dye it black.

well, im goth so i have black hair and im really pale, i like it, but i guess it depends alot on your style too.

It depends on what look you're after. I dyed my hair from light brown to black a couple of months ago and it seriously made my face look pale when my hair was down, but when I tied it up it looked really nice. have you thought about a dark brown instead? its a bit softer if you have bery light skin.

I agree with Polly. It does depend on the look you want, however, if you are naturally very white it may not suit you. I will give an example of a girl who dyed her hair in my drama class. She had beautiful chestnut brown hair, but she dyed it black and it did not go with her complexion. But it really does depend on your natural skin tone. Just stay away from the hair dye if you are very pale =], if not, go for it *thumbs up*.

Why not go to a professional stylist and see what they think, and if you still want your hair dark try tanning ro just go as dark as you can while still suiting your skin?

When my mom was a teenager she dyed her hair black and she was really pale. She looked like a ghost.

my friend isnt all that tan and has naturally black/nearly black hair...it looks great in my opinion. i wanna dye my hair, but if i even attempted to come close to asking i would probably b massacred...hehehe, once i can get outta this house, it's black black black black black ^_^
