Maybe it's self-confidence that you're lacking, and you don't feel that you deserve her love because you feel you aren't good enough. Just my opinion, though, based on what I read.

I hope that everything works out for the best for you, no matter what the best may be. I don't really know the situation, so I don't know if I can actually say anything else but that. But don't let it contravene your writing poetry. Just hang in there!

You answered your own problem. You're afraid of love because you don't want to end up hurt. This is something only you yourself can over come. You need to realize that it's okay to open your heart to love. It's scary thinking about being hurt. You shouldn't think that way. You need to think positive, and work to keep the relationship going strong. If you still have feelings for this girl, you need to find a way to talk to her and tell her what your feeling. Tell her your fear of commiting and winding up heart broken. I hope that helps a little.
