Abbreviations

Do you think that it's O.K to put abbrieviations (such as can't instead of cannot, doesn't instead of does not, isn't instead of is not... etc, etc) in your poems? Or does it make them sound 'improper'?

Well, the original words are more proper, but i sometimes use the others in the flow case. Like, if the flow is choppy without the abbreviated forms, then i use them. =)

I've never thought of that before.. but I guess it depends on what effect you're looking for in your poems =)
