Writing a child's book ..

At school we are now doing a "learning enrichment" course, and i'm doing "write a child's book", and was wandering if any of you have younger brothers/sisters or children what kind of themes are their favourites. I'm trying to do a bit of background research before I start

I wrote a rhyming story for my daughter when she was little.. It was about the life and ordeals of a teddy bear.. and she loved it.. I suppose it really depends on the age of the child You are writing it for.

Animals and rhyming seem very popular .. Thanks everyone, I think i'll do a story with animals, and incorporate rhyme into it :]
