The Dogs Fault Or The Owners?

Recently poor little Kady lee was savaged to death by two rottweliers.
My sympathies go out to her family.
BUT everyone is blaming the dogs, when Kady's mother willingly left her four month old daughter with those two dogs, knowing that not only are Rottweliers known for their strength and speed, and, depending on how they are rasied, their visiousness, but also that these two particular dogs had been raised as GUARD dogs.
Shoudn't some of the blame be going to the parents of little Kady Lee, and some to the dogs owners as well, for leaving Kady unattended with them?

Absolutely.. There is more to this story though from what I have heard.. The baby was in her moses basket at the time and the fire escape where the dogs were locked out had been opened?.. Most dogs even if trained to be guard dogs will not attack an innocent baby.. If the baby was crawling around and tormenting the dogs I could understand a little more, but for this little girl to be in her cot, and for both dogs to get in and attack her.. something doesn't quite add up.. I have a soppy puppy, but would still not leave her with a baby unattended.. No parent in their right mind would have left Kady Lee unattended with 2 trained, obviously viscious guard dogs.
If I got the facts wrong I'm sorry, my friend was talking about this the other night and she's pretty clued up when it comes to this sort of stuff.
Both of the dogs have been rightfully destroyed, although that inself is sad as they obviously just did what they were trained to do.. and I believe ALL the blame should go on the parents and the owners of the dogs.. But that's just my opinion.

Oh, i didn't know she was maybe in her cot and that the dogs were supposed to have attacked her while she was there.
If this IS true, though, then you are right, it doesn't add up.
And i can't see kady lee tormenting the dogs, what with being so young, she most likely wouldn't have even beena able to crawl or sit up on her own yet.
And yes i agree the blame should go on the people involved.

It annoys me when people then start saying; "Oh all rotweilers are viscious (sp?) and shouldn't be allowed as pets."
Well 'scuse me, I have two rotweilers and they are the two of the most docile dogs ever. They might lick you to death but thats it!
American Bull Dogs are stereotyped the same way.
When will people realise? It's the bloody dogs! It's the people raising them that sets theie personalitys.
Just like if a small child is mistreated or see's their parents acting like delinquents (sp?) then chances are they will go down the same path (not always of course, but most will)

I get so worked up over it, lol

Lol i get worked up over it too.
I love dogs, i have been brought up with since i was a few months old, and a couple times i have been bitten by the dog but i have never pressed charges or try to have it destroyed, i blamed the owner for the way they raised it.
And yes American Bulldogs are portrayed badly, same as American Pitbulls.
My dog is half Staff half American Pittbull, and he is the most gentlest dog ever. My little sister is three years old and he is so gentle with her, he just jumps around a lot and hurts if he jumps on you cause he weighs so much.
It's about time people started taking responsibilty for what their actions can cause in consequences.

Well, I mean, the baby was 4 months old, unable to defend herself or even talk. It's just common sense not to leave your baby with two, savage-by-nature, rottweilers.

It is definately the parents and the owners fault. We had a rotty when I was 5 and my little brother was 1. It all depends on how you raise your dog. Me and my little brother would play with Bear (my rotty) and he was never savage or whatever. If their trained to be guard dogs how stupid would you have to be to leave a four month old. When I was a baby we even had a pitbull. Not savage. He would sit there and play with me. He would pick me up by my diaper and put me on the floor just playing though. He even let me draw on his face. Everyone says these dogs our mean but it all depends on how you raise them. I do not blame those dogs. Thats how they were trained. It is definately the parents fault.

I said 'savage-by-nature" because that's usually how people percieve rottweilers and basically how they were meant to be. Just thought I should explain..
But I did know a rottweiler once that was trained to kill people, but who was very gentle. It all depends on the dog and what provokes him.

any dog can be mean just as easy as any dog can be nice. my uncle had a rot when my older sis was lil and he was the best dog. u could say go get kim and amanda and hed wrap him tongue around there wrists and lead them home. not to mention when they were babies, kim was sitting there and rocky was in a u shape w/ kim in the middle and rocky starts whining... my uncle tells him to quit it but he kept whining, well finally my uncle looks down and my sis has rocky by his manhood squezing!! goes to show rots can be very nice, it depends on how they are raised.
