where's the dollar?

hey if ur so good in math. i have a problem for you!

you went to the mall and found a nice shirt. but it cost 97 bucks and u didn't have money. so u asked ur mom the next day for 50 bucks and ur dad 50 bucks. so now you have 100 bucks. rite?

u went to the store again and bought it. ur change is 3 bucks. u give ur mom a dollar, so now u owe her 49 bucks. you give ur dad a dollar and now u owe him 49 bucks. then because u only had 3 bucks for change u kept the last dollar.

::49 u owe ur mom --------- 98 total owe
+49 u owe ur dad ---------- + 1 the dollar u kept
= 98. total u owe ------------ 99 the total money

where's the other dollar? 98+1= 99. wat happened to the other dollar? isn't it supposed to be 100? lol.

i still can't find the dollar. can u help me?

no seriously this is a question that only works if you subract it not add

100-97-1(mom)-1(dad)= 1 (for you)

i can't remember whats it's called but my math teacher spent a week talking about these type of questions

nah. 49+49= 98. so i put the DOLLAR i kept. so i still need another dollar to complete it. damn this is hard. idk the answer lol. maybe i gave the cashier a tip. lol. or she jacked it!
